Warwick Purser - Development & Heritage

Warwick Purser is Australian born but an Indonesian citizen by Presidential decree granted in recognition of his work in supporting rural communities by employing them in the development of craft. Generally known as the guru of the craft industry and the pioneer of export of these products in large volumes to the international market Warwick in 2013 was also the first Australian to be given the Advance Award an award for the Australian expatriate citizen making the biggest contribution to the overseas country in which they are domiciled. Warwick continues to work on community projects particularly at village level with children and education programmes focused on their local culture.
