SCHOOL BUILDING UPGRADES
Positive, productive learning environments are key to student’s academic, emotional and social success in school.
Unfortunately these learning environments don’t just happen on their own, they must be created. School building upgrades play a very important role in the delivery of our programs. Some examples of building upgrades we provide include installations of waste management solutions, creating safe and hygienic play areas, providing classroom furnishings and electrical upgrades and assisting with poor drinking water supplies, just to name a few. However the most important impact is the installation of the multi-media equipment into the classrooms. This equipment is used to seamlessly deliver our curriculum to the children.

SIDETAPA SDN 1 – This section of the school services Elementary school grades 1 to 3 and junior high school years 7 – 9. Thanks to the Marriott international Business Council’s ‘Run to Give 2020’, the deplorable state of these rooms has been repaired. The students, post covid lock down, returned to clean, fresh and repaired learning spaces.

WASH - water supply, hand washing facilities and soap in North Bali and Songan schools
Many BCF districts lack water supply to the home, limiting hygiene. The children arrive at school already grubby and get dirtier as the day goes on. With lots of water and soap in use the children’s skin conditions improve and eye infections are minimized.

STEM Class - science, technology, engineering and math
A new STEM class is prepared for the children of Songan , Bangli. The building inside and out was substantially renovated by DFS Bali. They also repaired furniture and installed audio-visual equipment for classes. The laptops were donated by Yachties Anon.

ecolab - safe drinking water in north bali schools
Ecolab in co-operation with Marriott International Business council have established drinking water in 3 North Bali schools. To date SDN3 Pedawa, SDN2 Pedawa and SDN3 Tigawasa. These three ‘Bali Aga’ schools are the first government Elementary Schools in Bali to receive truly safe drinking water.

School ground upgrade at SDN 6 Songan.
This playground was originally surfaced with dirt and black sand. The flies were dreadful. Since the playground upgrade with cement surfacing, tree planting, garden improvements, a waste collection area and regular waste collection the school playing area is now a pleasant, safe place for the children. Water supply and a new large water tank have improved hygiene at the school and ensured the garden can survive in the dry season.
